Lamentations 3:1-25
Verse 21:
“This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope”
Have you ever felt like your just so weighed down by the things of this world? You just feel beaten down and as if you can’t seem to even catch your breath without something else seemingly bad happening to you? That’s how Jeremiah felt and he tells about it in this chapter. Jeremiah is writing to tell us about how much affliction he has in his life and how he is bound up and feels like he is the most miserable person. He tells about his sorrows and how he feels like God doesn’t even hear his prayers. He goes on to tell that he feels desolate and that he feels that is strength is perished, but then we hit verse 21. “Therefore have I hope” those four words. He writes that even through the hardest times of our lives the Lord’s mercies and his compassions fail us not! His faithfulness to us is great even when we are weak. We just have to seek him, even in the storms we need to seek God’s will for our lives. Bro. Warren Wiersbe brought this thought to light, “When we go through the serious trials and storms of our lives we are quick to ask ‘HOW can I get out of this’ when we should be asking ‘WHAT can I get out of this’ we need seek to what God has for us through the storms”.
